Why we started
ain Enlightened is a youth-led educational platform dedicated to making Jain principles practical for modern life. The initiative focuses on public education, research-informed resources, and community dialogue rooted in core Jain values such as ahimsa, anekantavada, aparigraha, compassion, and self-discipline.
Our current flagship work is the Jain Health & Medical Ethics Initiative, led by Aanya Doshi. This initiative explores how Jain beliefs shape healthcare decisions and how clinicians can better support Jain patients through respectful, culturally aware care.

Our Mission.
Jain Enlightened exists to make Jain wisdom practical, accessible, and relevant to modern life. Our current focus is Jain health and medical ethics: helping people understand how non-violence, compassion, many-sided thinking, and personal responsibility can guide real clinical choices. We create educational articles, research summaries, family resources, and clinician-facing guides that support respectful, informed conversations between Jain patients and healthcare providers.
Arham Doshi's - Personal Journey
Aanya Doshi is a student researcher interested in medicine, ethics, and culturally sensitive patient care. Through Jain Enlightened, she is studying how Jain beliefs influence healthcare decisions such as medication ingredients, vaccines, antibiotics, surgery, fasting, hospital diets, organ donation, and end-of-life choices.Her goal is to help Jain families and healthcare providers communicate with greater clarity, respect, and compassion through research-informed educational resources and public dialogue focused on Jain medical ethics.
Role of Pathshala & Spiritual Guidance
The foundation of Jain Enlightened is rooted in Jain education, compassion, and thoughtful dialogue around modern ethical challenges. Inspired by principles such as ahimsa, self-discipline, anekantavada, and empathy, the initiative aims to make conversations surrounding healthcare and patient-centered care more accessible and culturally informed.
Through educational resources, research, and community engagement, Jain Enlightened encourages respectful conversations between Jain families, students, and healthcare providers.
